White Gustavian table made in northern Sweden between 1790 and 1810. The table is an early example of compact living where one item has multiple uses. This table has a folding tabletop and works well as wall table or desk which could then be extended to a for example dining table. Straight tapered legs with a single drawer. The table is painted pine with traces of the original paint as well as the original authentic patina. Handwrought hinges riveted to the folding top. The drawer has minor stains of ink inside and there are traces of an older repair at the left side edge against the folding top, see picture. The main tabletop is 116 x 49 cm and the folding top is 69 cm. Height to rim is 61 cm.
