A 19th century terracotta male figure modelled after the Han dynasty figures dating 206 BC-220 AD. Beautifully rendered with downcast eyes and soft colors. A full face with plump cheeks, with a high cap that crowns his head. Wearing a jacket with open collars and an long apron that covers the bottom half of his body. The figure depicts a cook, especially the ones who work with flours such as buns and dumplings. Such a statue was regarded as a status symbol and became an important part of a burial ritual.
