A good quality Leeds Pottery creamware figure group depicting Venus and Cupid with a large fish believed to date from the latter 19th century. The molded figure group stands raised on a square shaped base and is well modelled with nice detail with Venus dressed in loose fitting dress and standing with bare feet with the small cupid figure holding onto her dress. A large fish with a scrolling tail rests its head to one side and the figure group is decorated in a natural salt glazed finish. The base has an unglazed foot and is impressed LEEDS POTTERY to the inside edge.
In good condition with fine age crazing to the glazed finish.
