Vintage Design
Frivolous F&T Rob Parry chair model 1728 designed for furniture industry Gelderland in 1953. A contrarian design with a frame of solid bar steel, a liberating alternative to the ‘Goed Wonen’ Living Standard. This variant of the F&T chair, originally made for wine merchant Ferwerda & Tieman chair, was shown at the Triennale in Milan in 1954. The condition is still good and original with normal traces of use (see photos). Remarkably, the original skai upholstery is still largely present. Frame and seat are structurally still very good. The back of the backrest has been reupholstered with black skai. Colour: black, yellow, grey and white. Dimensions: h x w x d = 84 x 44 x 51 cm and the seat height is 45 cm. Book source: Rob Parry, with a reference on page 30 to André Koch’s book Tegendraads Modern in which the chair is also pictured on page 73 (see photo)
