Vintage Design
The frame of the chairs is executed in an ingenious black coated metal frame. The seat seems to lean into the frame, inviting the sitter to sit down. The seating is thick and comfortable, which is something Ruth is known for.
These very rare “F115” chairs are just restored with famous Italian fabric.
This magnificent and high quality fabric is made of 100% Linen.
Theo Ruth (1915-) can be considered as the Pioneer of the designs by Artifort. In 1936 he joined the company, first as cabinetmaker, later in 1939 as head of the design and development department. The Congo chair is his best known design and was a great sales success for Artifort.
