Charming 19th century country Swedish center table or rent table finished in the Gustavian taste. The round drum form pedestal table features a painted case decorated with a bust of Count Hans Axel von Ferson (The Younger) Stockholm dated 1785 depicted with a hat, mask, and a trout. The whimsical painting was made by Yeager in the late 20th century and signed on the lapel. Ira loved painting period French and Swedish furniture for his gallery to compliment his provincial style art. This pedestal table is a classic example of a rent table with patinated brass pulls and feet. The case is supported by gracefully splayed legs with an urn form column. Beautifully distressed painted finish intentionally aged. The case has one small storage drawer and dummy pulls. Provenance: From the Yager Galerie Calistoga, CA.
